IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a test that aims to assist people to realise their aspirations of working, studying, or relocating to an English-speaking country.
There are two types of IELTS exams: Academic and General Training.
IELTS Academic
IELTS Academic is for you if you aim to pursue higher education or professional registration.
IELTS Academic evaluates your English proficiency to determine whether you are ready to study undergraduate or postgraduate courses in English or work as a professional such as a doctor, teacher, or lawyer.
IELTS General Training
IELTS General Training is required if you plan to migrate to an English-speaking country like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the UK.
Both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training have four sections: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. The Listening and Speaking sections are the same, but the Reading and Writing sections differ.
IELTS is required for students for university admissions, professionals for employment or certification, immigrants for visas, and sometimes by government agencies for language proficiency assessment.
