Extra 5 points with Naati Accreditation for Your Migration in Australia
National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters has introduced a testing system under Credentialed Community Language (CCL) points at the Paraprofessional level or above. As attaining permanent residency in Australia has become a mountainous task, all the aspirants are aiming to score the maximum points to fulfill the criteria of getting the invite or migration to apply for it.
There are three main categories in which an immigrant can apply based on points:
Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189)
Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)
Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 489)
One is eligible to claim 5 points under Credentialed Community Language, upon successful accreditation from NAATI which determines an applicantβs ability to interpret the conversation between two speakers speaking different languages where one is particularly English.
The test will include of two different sections each including one dialogue from a real-life scenario. Further, each dialogue will contain the alternating segments (could be up to three sentences long) which will be in English and Language Other Than English (LOTE). A candidate has to translate each segment into the required language.
After the successful completion of your test, two different examiners will grade on your answer dialogue 1 and dialogue 2. You need an overall score of 63 marks or more in the CCL Assessment Test with a minimum of 29 out of 45 marks in each dialogue in order to achieve 5 points. You might be able to attain 29 in each and pass the dialogues individually, still a score above 63 is required for which it is mandatory for you to get 32 scores as target in each of the dialogue.
Once you are able to score the required bands, Naati will issue a certificate which can be submitted in the immigration department to qualify for those extra 5 points.
