5 Daily Habits for Scoring well the PTE test

Preparing for any exams requires a strategic steps and efforts that also fits well for your PTE exam. Before starting your preparation, know everything you need to know about the PTE test. Rather than attending the PTE for your score requirements, if you consider the exam for long term benefits, which includes improving your communication skills, then mindful preparation is recommended.Β  Because as discussed in the previous blogs, it has a lot to offer than the score requirement for academic purpose. Hence, make up your mind that you are going to develop the skill that help to achieve and progress in your academic and professional career. So, first in terms of understanding the PTE, this is the language test that will assess your ability in wide areas of English that includes grammar, vocabulary, comprehension ability, summarizing ability, spontaneity, observing skills, note taking skills, and writing with logic & structure, and overall fluency and pronunciation. With these contextual understanding we will recommend you few daily habits that you can adopt to prepare mindfully for the test.

Once the contextual understanding, self-assessment, or rating your self is very important, so that one know that how much time we could allocate to overcome the weakness. However, there are some general habits that fits for everyone to improve the language ability including PTE exam.

Habit 1

Talk as much as you could in English. As an international community, we mostly prefer to use our own language, it is understandable, however, if you cultivate the habit of speaking English in everyday life, most of the thing will be sorted to because conversing everyday in this language will make you as natural speaker and we do not need to worry much about the fluency part. Beyond that when you read an article or books, pick the central idea of the topic and try to speak one or two minutes about it.Β  While doing this two, important skills we would learn, firstly, knowing new words, and most importantly, how to use the different words in a specific context. Furthermore, it will naturally improve our ability to speak fluently without hesitation on any given topics.

Listen t news channels, documentaries, or movies, any thing you like, we are going to use the same strategy. Firstly, listen, observe, pick up notes, and try to speak using your own language. With this habit, two important skills could be improved, listening and understanding, and note taking while listening, then use the same notes to present the topic on your own. Doing every day, you will notice the difference when you practice some of the tasks like retell lecture, describe images, or even the summarize spoken texts, or any other tasks in listening you could play with it effortlessly.

 

Habit 3

Practice of reading and listening, when we say the practice of reading and listening, it is about doing it consciously. Conscious practice of reading and listening is kind of academic work, however, doing this will boost your confidence in improving your vocabulary, understanding the different style of language and accent, and ability to comprehend, which is important for your listening and reading tasks. Start with ten minutes and increase the timing slowly, and this would boost your confidence in understanding the bigger and wider range of topics.

Habit 4

Write a journal, this could be any things, which includes writing your everyday experience, or about the book you have read or the activities you involved in. while doing so, use wide range of writing styles, connectors and word choices to improve your writing.
